CYBERSECURITY: THE DANGERS THAT LURK & THE PRECAUTIONS TO TAKE......

This seminar qualifies for MCLE ETHICS CREDIT 1.0.

We no longer have the option to turn a blind eye towards technology and the importance of data security.  The pervasiveness of data breaches and incidences of Ransomware have resulted in the complete loss of data for law firms costing them both loss of millions of dollars and pivotal client relationships, not to mention exposing them to negligence and malpractice actions.

What we’re experiencing is that even if you have the best that technology and data security has to offer an entire firm can be brought down by one person’s inattention in clicking on a email attachment or link within an email.  Regardless of how much we like or dislike frantically trying to keep up with the unrelenting pace of technology, we are under obligation to do so according to the American Bar Association, as well as California Rules of Professional Conduct.  This presentation will work to make this a manageable feat as we cover the following:

In this presentation we will review:

  • What to do if you are hacked
  • The mobility of information and data
  • How are you migrating your information between you and your clients
  • The importance of  your vendor relationships and their security precautions
  • Ransome-ware and data loss
  • What does the future hold? Is there any hope for security?
