STUDENT SECTION MEETING Hosted by the Orange County Paralegal Association & UCI Division of Continuing Education

Resume Tips and Interview Techniques: 9:00-10:00 am

Come hear from an industry expert on what's going on in the legal market and how you can set yourself a part in this competitive industry. In addition, what do you do once you get the interview? What do you wear? What do you bring? How much do I state if salary is discussed? Is it even legal to ask about salary requirements anymore?

Paralegal Career Panel 10:00-11:00 am

“The good, the bad and the ugly of working in-house within the practice of law” The panel will consist of Paralegals working in the legal department of some major Corporations in Orange County.

Keynote Speaker: 11:00-12:00 am

Are you curious to know what happens behind the scenes as a paralegal in a criminal defense attorney's office? Lorena Hughes from the Law Offices of Virginia L. Landry will offer some insight and perspective as to what it's like to represent clients accused of crimes while being up against a powerful system of prosecutors and law enforcement officials.  This workshop will also review how to complete some common form petitions (motions) that every criminal defense paralegal should know.
