This Privacy Policy Covers
- This
policy covers how OCPA treats personal information that OCPA
collects and receives. Personal information is data about
you that is personally identifiable like your name, address,
email address, or phone number, and that is not otherwise
publicly available.
- This
policy does not apply to the practices of affiliated associations
that OCPA does not own or control, or to people that OCPA
does not employ or manage. In addition, non-Web OCPA services
may have separate privacy policies.
Information Collection and Use
General
- OCPA
collects personal information when you sign-up for an OCPA
Membership and/or register online for seminars and general
membership meetings.
- When
you fill out an OCPA online form, we ask for information such
as your name, employers, years of employment as a Paralegal,
home mailing address, business address, phone number, email
address, school attended and credit card number (for paid
events).
- OCPA
automatically receives and records information in our server
logs from your browser, including your IP address, and the
page(s) you request.
- OCPA
uses information for the following general purposes:

and meeting registrations
- Membership
announcements,
- Reporting
for internal use.
Information
Sharing and Disclosure
- OCPA
does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you
with other people or nonaffiliated companies or associations.
- We respond
to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish
or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.
We believe it is necessary to share information in order to
investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities,
suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to
the physical safety of any person, violations of OCPA's terms
of use, or as otherwise required by law.
- OCPA
is sponsored by vendors, partners, advertisers, and other
service providers in different industries and categories of
business. OCPA does not share personal or subscription information
with these third-parties.

- OCPA
does not set and/or access cookies on your computer.
Your
Ability to Edit and Delete Your Membership Information and Preferences
General
- You
cannot edit your OCPA Membership information online. If you
need to modify or cancel your subscription, please use the
Membership button on the Contact Us page to send a request
for changes.
- We reserve
the right to send you certain communications relating to OCPA
services, such as announcements, administrative messages and
the OCPA Newsletter, that are considered part of your OCPA
Membership, without offering you the opportunity to opt-out
of receiving them.
Confidentiality
and Security
- We limit
access to personal information about you to OCPA Directors
and Section Chairs who we believe reasonably need to come
into contact with that information to provide products or
services to you or in order to perform their volunteer assignments.
- We have
physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that protect
personal information about you, such as credit card information.
- When
gathering credit card numbers, OCPA uses a secure SSL server
that protects credit card numbers using 128 bit encryption
as the data is transmitted over the Internet.
Server
Security
- The OCPA
Web server and database resides behind 2 firewalls, one at
the Datacenter, and a second one on OCPA's server.
- Each
server has a mirrored drive, so there is always a 'fail safe
drive' to protect data.
