What to Know About California Marijuana Laws 

as of January 1, 2018


Though the state has had a massive medical marijuana industry for more than 20 years, new laws mean new changes.  Our discussion will cover what is legal and what is not legal in California and in the work place.  

Presented by: Seth E. Ort, Associate Attorney at Ogletree Deakins

Speaker Biography: Seth Ort is an associate with Ogletree Deakins, focusing his practice on labor and employment law. He represents employers in all labor and employment litigation matters, and also counsels employers regarding personnel policies, legal compliance, employee discipline, and litigation avoidance.

While in law school, Seth externed with the Honorable Sandra Ikuta at the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to law school, Seth worked for the House Committee on the Budget in Washington, D.C. He also worked for the World Resources Institute, an environmental non-profit, in Washington, D.C.

OCPA is a State Bar of California Approved MCLE provider and certifies that this seminar qualifies for MCLE CREDIT 1.0.

Event Fee: $10.00 for OCPA members, $20.00 for non-members and $20.00 for all walk-ins who have not pre-registered online (both members and non-members) IF SPACE IS AVAILABLE. Walk-ins are on a first come first serve basis.

Credit for a future meeting will be held in your OCPA account which may be applied to future meetings if your cancellation is received no less than 48 hours prior to the event.
