2019 Safe Harvest Halloween Carnival - Volunteer

Date - Thursday, October 31, 2019

Time - 4:00pm - 8:30pm

Location - The West Anaheim Youth Center, 320 S. Beach Blvd, Anaheim, CA 92804

One of the highlights of childhood is Trick-Or-Treating – getting dressed up in a costume and going door to door, stuffing your bag as full as humanly possible with candy! However, for children living in low-income/affordable housing, mobile trailer parks and short term motels, trick-or-treating can be a disappointing or even dangerous event.  Most families living in motels cannot afford costumes or candy and child safety is a concern when you do not know who is going to answer the door.

One solution is Grandma’s House of Hope’s Annual “Safe Harvest” Event hosted on Halloween for children living in our local Anaheim motels. The West Anaheim Youth Center is once again partnering with us and generously donating their facility for this event to be held on October 31st, from 4:00 pm – 8:30 pm.

We need your help! We need general volunteers to help with Food or game booths that need assistance, candy runners, toy/prize booth attendant, parking lot attendant, or many other jobs as assigned.

About Grandma's House of Hope: https://grandmashouseofhope.org/

Grandma’s House of Hope (GHH) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to improving the quality of life for Orange County’s most vulnerable, underserved and socio-economically disadvantaged community members by providing housing, food and trauma-informed supportive services. GHH’s mission is to Empower the Invisible Populations of Orange County by targeting those who truly slip between the cracks of other programs, with a specific focus on serving those who are ineligible for or who have significant difficulty accessing other organizations’ services. We accomplish this through three core programs: GHH’s Rescued and Restored Housing Program, Nana’s Kidz program and HopeWorks! Education and Enrichment Center program.
