Laura's House Donation Center

The Orange County Paralegal Association is partnering with Laura's House to assist in this volunteer opportunity. During the shift volunteers will be sorting donations received from the community to find items in great condition for their shelter needs or for their resale stores. Clothing will be separated to either keep or to send to a textile recycling facility. Depending on where they are in production, there may be some volunteers who will be hanging clothes.

Physical Requirements: Volunteers should be able to stand for the duration of the volunteer shift. Volunteers should also be able to lift 10-20lbs.

Dress Code: Please dress comfortably, jeans/shorts & a t-shirt, closed toed shoes are a must! Volunteers should dress in modest clothing, nothing short or revealing.

About Laura's House: Laura's House is a comprehensive domestic violence organization in South Orange County that provides residential shelter services, transitional housing, counseling, workshops, and legal services to thousands of individuals. Over 3000 crisis calls come in each year to their 24/7 crisis hotline. They help families experiencing the effects of domestic violence in need of emergency shelter, support, education and counseling. Laura's House operates on the philosophy that domestic violence is multi-dimensional and often cyclical in nature and must be addressed through a range of interventions. Their goal is to provide supportive service programs that will prepare their clients and their children to live independent and violence free lives, with an emphasis on education and prevention for future generations.
