"Recent Bankruptcy Decisions Relating to California Community Property Law"
A discussion of decisions within the last year on California community property law (especially those by the judges of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California) and their impact on bankruptcy professionals going forward.

Speaker Bio: Brandon J. Iskander is the Riverside associate of Shulman Bastian Friedman & Bui LLP, working in its bankruptcy and litigation departments since 2017. Mr. Iskander earned a B.A. in economics from the University of California, Irvine in 2010 and graduated in 2014 from the University of California, Irvine School of Law as a member of its third-ever class. Mr. Iskander clerked in Baltimore, Maryland for the Honorable Robert A. Gordon (U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Maryland). Since joining SBFB, Mr. Iskander has focused his practice on bankruptcy trustee and creditor representation and has spoken at events on topics ranging from community property to commercial law. Mr. Iskander was also elected to the board of directors of the Inland Empire Bankruptcy Forum in December 2019. In addition to his regular practice, Mr. Iskander routinely blogs on decisions ranging from bankruptcy, tax, and commercial litigation matters. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Central District Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys Association, and the James T. King Bankruptcy Inn of Court.
