   Presenter Biography

  Virginia A. Suveiu, Esq., counsels on regulatory compliance and commercial law matters, including contract life cycle and negotiations. Virginia is also a mediator and arbitrator for the International Chamber of Commerce, the Orange County Bar Association, and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.

  Virginia also finds time in her busy schedule to teach contract law in the paralegal program at UCI Division of Continuing Education Paralegal Program.

  Tracey Perkins, MBA is a Recruiting Manager at Round Hill Search, a boutique minority-and femaile-owned legal search firm headquartered in Los Angeles. Tracey spent two decades as a Litigation Paralegal with top-rated firms and understands the paralegal profession from two sides.

  Tracey is also an Instructor of Ethics and Legal Career Skills for the UCI Division of Continuing Education Paralegal Program. She holds a Bachelors degree from the University of Virginia and her MBA with the University of Maryland Global Campus.

  SECTION MEETING: CRIMINAL LAW

  TOPIC: Title-404b Character Evidence at Trial

  Federal Rule of Evidence 404(b) generally prohibits the use of evidence from other crimes, wrongs, or acts to prove a person's character in order to show they acted in conformity with that character. However, there are exceptions, allowing such evidence for other purposes like proving motive, intent, or opportunity.

  

  Presented By: Jessica Munk, Esq.

  Jessica Munk is an experienced trial attorney in federal and state courts focusing on white collar criminal defense and complex civil litigation. She was a prosecuting attorney in Washington State, has tried numerous jury trials, has written and argued numerous criminal motions. Jessica is currently a trial attorney and principal at Wiechert, Munk & Goldstein, PC, where she handles complex civil and criminal cases, investigations, and trials.

  OCPA is partnering with Sandwiches from the Heart, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to make a difference in the lives of those in Orange County who are food insecure. SFTH delivers fresh sandwiches to shelters, food banks, and other community organizations that feed people in the local community. We are recruiting OCPA members to assist with fresh sandwich assembly and also kindly seeking fresh ingredient donations to take with you the day of the event.   The OCPA has been providing continuing legal education for attorneys, practicing paralegals and legal professionals, as well as networking opportunities for members and legal services providers for the past 49 years!

  This is your opportunity to participate in this annual event.  You will have the opportunity to interact directly with motivated professionals who share in the decision-making process for their employers.  More than 200 of OCPA's members will attend this all-day Conference, along with other members of the legal community.  We encourage you to take this opportunity to educate potential clients about your products and services at what has become a premier OCPA event.

  The Exhibitor Sponsor fee will be $675.00. There will be a $600.00 Early-Bird registration period. The deadline for Early-Bird is June 27th.
